Many people are reluctant to attend a new church without knowing anything about it. This is natural. We would like to put your mind at ease by giving you an overview of what you will experience when you visit our worship service in Montpelier.
Our worship is simple and Biblical, following the New Testament pattern for worship. You will be treated with courtesy and kindness, and you will not feel embarrassed or pressured in any way. You will not be asked to stand up and tell us about yourself.
Each service begins with a prayer. Our singing is a cappella, as we do not use any musical instruments. We observe the Lord's Supper every first day of the week. After the Lord's Supper, we take up a collection from our members. You may contribute if you like, but you will not be asked to. The money collected is used to support the spreading of the gospel.
You will then hear a lesson from the scriptures presented by our preacher. At the conclusion of his sermon, he will extend an invitation for those who wish to be baptized or make a confession of their sins. We conclude our services with a dismissal prayer.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about what you have heard or if you wish to study further with someone. We also encourage you to join us for Bible study in Vermont and to participate in our Christian fellowship in Vermont. We hope that your visit will be both enjoyable and edifying.
